The purpose of using in-store radio is allowing the customer to it easy and being entertained when shopping around the store. Finding a balance between the ability to use persuasion and entertainment within the store, without being too forward. Promoting offers and deals to customers every now and then can give information out louder than a sign or price tag. It's effective for the business and also for the customer and staff. Not only does it matter to the customers shopping online or in store, but it also gets the staff motivated.
I think that the target audience for the ASDA in-store radio is likely to be between 16-30. Listening to this they play some late recent chart toppers for the younger generation, which is likely to attract the adult age bracket as well. It's very pop based music mixing the music format of hot adult contemporary with the soft adult contemporary. Ministry of sound 2013 - deepest blue with latest chart toppers such as Mike Posner - cooler than me.
