RADIO JINGLE
A radio Ident/Stinger (Station identification or Channel ID) a run through of a radio or television stations or networks identifying themselves on air.
What I learnt in the studio was how to use 'Adobe Audition' which was the software I used to create my jingle. I learnt how to record, delete, edit and to control the speakers. The main controls I also was taught vagely but simple skills.
The music I used for my Stinger is simple but you can hear my voice clearly and not being over powered by a heavy bassline. Less is more :)

STYLES OF PROGRAMMING
OLDER ADULT
TEENAGER
I chose to do hot adult contemporary for a teenagers show as this mostly includes top 40 chart hits music. This can include various music tastes.
The format for my student show is very important as i wouldn't personally listen to a chart hits radio station if they played a heavy rock/metal song. This would lose any target audience i was aiming to draw in and i would also be targeting the wrong crowd.
The target audience for these music formats are mainly from 16-30. As i am in this category, i will base my radio show around the music I listen to.
The older adults may also listen this this format, listening to radio station like BBC RADIO 2, they mix older tracks that draw their audience in and combine the two to create a music sequence that will be frequently listened to. This technique for allows the radio producer to play the recent singles along with the tracks that have already gained fame. Making this a win win situation for both the radios audiences and the artists.

MUSIC PROGRAMMING
- What is the "Music programming for Radio?"
When you choose specific songs to put on a playlist which plays on your radio station. - What is a station's "Music Format?"
A radio station has to play a certain genre of music; "Hot Adult Contemporary" such as Smooth and Magic would play artists like Coldplay, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars ect. "Soft Adult Contemprary" such as Heart FM would play artists like Ronan Keating, Paloma Faith, Daniel Powter, Honey Rider ect. "Adult Contemporary" such as BBC Radio 2 would play artists like MIKA, Beach Boys, Pet Shop Boys ect. - What is an ABC Playlist?'A' playlist are songs that are most played and are popular, 'B' playlist are sometimes played but not very often and a 'C' playlist are that aren't played once in a while.
- Explain how the choice of music would affect profits of a commercial radio station. If the same song/artist is playing on a regular basis, listeners will get bored and change channel to another station. Therefore the station will lose listeners and the commercials will lose money.
- Explain some technicques in music programming to keep the listener interested?Main way to keep listeners entertained is to not play the same kind of music over and over because they'll go listen somewhere else. this is why radio stations use ABC playlists because it gives a wide variety of music to play to keep people listening to your radio station.
